SISAC Lady Sabres Soccer

On Saturday, April 15th our D2 Soccer teams played their final tournament.  They had rainy, gloomy weather for their games but they still managed to finish with big smiles.  Our girls were very excited as they received their 2nd place trophy after a tough loss in the championship game. A quote from senior Grade 12 player Christine Tan, “I think our team played well today. Sometimes we swing with our legs and miss the ball but its okay because we learned to recover. We are a team that never gives up! I’m going to miss playing with this wonderful team. Go Sabres!”

In the regular season play the girls finished with 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss to finish second place as well. The girls scored 11 season goals and conceded only 8. From Coach Rupert De Smidt, “There was improvement evident in several areas – all field players showed better fitness and skill levels than seen last year.”  With less games in their schedule this year the girls were able to focus on skill development and their fitness levels. It was really great to see them come together as a committed team that wanted to perform well this season.
